7th and 8th Grade Field Trip
Parents of the 7th and 8th Grade History Classes
Your son/daughter will be going on a field trip on Wednesday, May 13. This educational experience will give your student a fantastic opportunity to see the Oregon Trail, Pony Express Station and also the first homestead at the Homestead National Monument. We will depart Sterling at 8AM and return by 3:30PM.
Prior to the field trip day, I am asking each student to bring $2 for admission to the museum at Rock Creek Station. That is the only admission needed. The students will also need to pack a lunch, similar to what they might bring to a track meet. I will provide the drinks so they will just need to bring food.
We are also going to have a BOX DESSERT AUCTION! Each girl will need to prepare a dessert (just for two), put it into a box and decorate the box for auction. They boys will need to bring $1.25 which will be the needed funds to purchase the BOX DESSERT. I am sure the bidding will be spirited and this event will be educational as well as entertaining.
If you have any questions about our upcoming excursion, please contact me at school or at home. I look forward to a very rewarding day discovering the history of out ancestors!
